Jharkhand State Budget 2025-26

- The Jharkhand Government on March 3, 2025 tabled a ₹1.45 lakh crore Budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the State Assembly. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition Government had presented a Budget of ₹1.28 lakh crore for the 2024-25 financial year.
- The budget presented by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore has made a provision of ₹13,363.35 crore for the ambitious Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) to provide financial assistance to women.
- The State’s economy is expected to grow at the rate of 7.5% in the financial year 2025-26.
- The fiscal deficit in the budget for the coming financial year is estimated to be ₹11,253 crore.
- Jharkhand Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at current prices was about ₹4.6 trillion in the financial year 2023-24 and now the State Government will try to make it ₹10 trillion by the financial year 2029-30.
- In the budget, the State Government announced the seven medical colleges in Ranchi, Khunti, Giridih, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Jamtara. It also announced new universities in Jamshedpur, Gumla and Sahibganj.
